배경; 일본 나라현에서 20년간 운영되던 석면방직공장이 1971년 부산으로 이전하여 다시 20년 뒤인 1992년 인도네시아 시비농으로 옮겨갔습니다. 그후 16년이 흘렀습니다. 뒤늦게 석면의 위험성을 깨닫고 환경운동가, 산업보건전문가, 노동운동가, 학계전문가 등을 중심으로 석면추방운동이 전개되고 있습니다. 한국과 일본 그리고 인도네시아의 전문가와 운동가들이 공동으로 인도네시아 시비농 현지에서 지금도 가동되는 석면방직공장의 주변환경과 주민 그리고 노동자를 대상으로 피해조사를 진행하고 있습니다. 이 조사내용을 중심으로 아래와 같이 석면워크숍을 개최합니다. 많은 관심바랍니다. An asbestos textile factory, after 20 years operation in NaraJapan, moved to Busan Korea in 1971. Again after 20 years the same factory transferred to Cibinong Indonesia in 1992. Now 16 years have passed since the deadly machines operated but it is still operating at this moment. Activists from environment and labor sectors, scholars and experts from Japan, Korea and Indonesia work together on this issue and survey in Cibinong. This workshop is about the survey jointly executed by 3 nations.
