8. Summary of proposal objectives:
The goal of this project is to conserve waterbird species and wetlands in the
transboundary areas of Tumen River, Mongolian Plateau, Daurian and Supra zones of
TumenNET area.

9. How will these objectives be achieved?
The objective will be achieved through:
· conducting workshop for initiating this project which will formulate the TOR,
identifying the task, working out the plan, establishing the working group, distributing
the task, determining demonstartion sites and possible institutional framework/mechanisms
for implementation of the demonstration activities.
· developing strategy for sustainable management of wetlands and their resources.
· developing and implementing local conservation programmes for endangered
waterbirds in Tumen River, Mongolian Plateau, Daurian and Supra zones.
· strenghening capacity building of local community.
· promoting awareness activities on conservation of endangered waterbirds and
wetlands importance.

10. Describe how the target population will benefit from the project and link those
benefits to the project activities.
· Local community will understand the importance of conservation of endangered
waterbirds and wetlands
· Capacity building of local community will be strengthened through workshop and
seminar.

11. Comment on gender equity in formulation, design and implementation of this
project. Does it assist any disadvantaged groups/ people?
§ The project will promote the participation of women and disadvantaged people in
conservation of waterbirds and wetlands.

12. Describe the impact your project has on improving the environment, in
particular on biodiversity and waters protection.
· Strategy for sustainable management of wetlands and their resources will be
developed.
· Local conservation programmes for endangered waterbirds in Tumen River,
Mongolian Plateau, Daurian and Supra zones will be developed and implemented.

people / authorities to this project.
§ Implementing Agents of this project are all research institutions and
environment related organizations. So all the project components such as survey, capacity
building and awareness activities will be carried out in cooperation of all these
organizations and local communities.

15. How to do propose to sustain the project once all project funds have been
expended? E.g., how will you meet maintenance, repair, and ongoing operational costs for
the project? Please provide a letter of support from pertinent authorities.
